Canada Jetlines signs wet lease deal with European carrier

This story was updated on Tuesday, March 5 at 4:04 p.m. EST.
Canada Jetlines has entered a wet lease agreement with a European carrier amid the surging global demand for A320 aircraft, the Toronto-based airline announced Tuesday (March 5).
Set to begin with one aircraft in late April 2024 for a period of six months and with a second aircraft in late June for a period of three months, the collaboration reflects Jetlines' "operational ability in maximizing fleet utilization by deploying its aircraft and crew to Europe in the summer," the company said.
In a statement to PAX, Jetlines said the new wet lease won't impact its flight schedules. The carrier Jetlines has partnered with is Corendon Dutch Airlines.
"In January, we announced the expansion of our fleet to six aircraft. The utilization of these planes is widely needed in Europe during their busy season. The two planes will return to Canada for our busy fall/winter travel period to leisure destinations," said Eddy Doyle, Jetlines' CEO, in the release. "This partnership underscores our commitment to maximizing efficiency and meeting the seasonal demands of our customers."
