Air France pilots eye Feb. 22 strike date

The three unions representing Air France pilots are eyeing Feb. 22 to trigger a potential general strike at the carrier, stemming from a salary freeze for unionized employees in place since 2011.

According to reports, the unions affiliated with the French carrier currently oppose the Agreement on Compulsory Annual Negotiations (NAO) on wage issues; wages for union employees have been stuck since 2011. While the unions are requesting an increase of six per cent, Air France has countered with a proposed unilateral increase of just under one per cent.
