Air Canada rolls out upgraded bedding & Canadian-made amenity kits for int’l flights
(Air Canada)

Air Canada is rolling out a new collection of premium bedding and redesigned amenity kits across its international network as the carrier continues to invest in enhancing the onboard experience.

Beginning this month, the upgrades will be introduced in all cabins, with new oversized blankets in Economy and Premium Economy, enhanced duvets and pillows in Signature Class, and refreshed amenity kits featuring products from Canadian companies Hunter Amenities and Sahajan.

The airline says the new collection is part of its broader effort to improve passenger comfort on long-haul flights, helping travellers arrive better rested whether they're travelling for business, visiting family or heading off on vacation.

“From the generously sized Premium Economy and Economy Class blanket that keeps you comfortable from shoulders to feet, to our new plush Signature Class duvets, every element introduced as part of this launch was thoughtfully chosen to help customers settle in, relax and rest throughout their journey,” said Jacqueline Harkness, managing director, products and services at Air Canada, in a statement.

“We’ve spent meaningful time with our customers, getting their perspective on what would make a flight more relaxing and restful. Then we went to work investing in high-quality products that deliver the very best that leading Canadian partners have to offer.”

Canadian partnerships at the centre

The redesigned amenity kits were developed with Burlington, ON.-based Hunter Amenities, which designed and manufactured the reusable travel accessories.

According to the company, every component—from the recycled cotton drawstring bag to the eye masks and socks—was designed to be useful beyond the flight.

Air Canada has also partnered with Canadian skincare brand Sahajan to supply premium skincare products in Signature Class.

The business-class kits now include Sahajan's Lip Karma lip balm and The Hand Remedy hand cream, both manufactured by Hunter Amenities in Burlington.

Larger blankets & upgraded bedding

Among the most noticeable changes for passengers travelling in Economy and Premium Economy is a new six-foot polar fleece blanket designed to provide full-body coverage.

Premium Economy travellers will also receive refreshed amenity kits containing a contoured eye mask, 3M earplugs, knitted socks, an antimicrobial bamboo toothbrush and Colgate toothpaste.

In Signature Class, Air Canada has upgraded both its duvet and pillow. The new duvet features a heavier 145-gram-per-square-metre construction for added softness and warmth, while the redesigned pillow includes an AirFlow fill intended to improve breathability and support.

Signature Class passengers will also receive a new amenity kit featuring a premium adjustable eye mask, Sahajan skincare products, 3M earplugs, cotton cabin socks, a bamboo toothbrush, toothpaste and dental floss, all packaged in a reusable recycled cotton drawstring bag made in Canada.
