Vision Travel purchases Travel Sensations

Vision Travel Solutions has announced the acquisition of Travel Sensations Downtown, a high-end luxury travel agency located in central Toronto.

Travel Sensations Downtown owner Joanne Thachuk will remain as an independent travel advisor, with former Travel Sensations Downtown staff offered the choice of relocating to Vision’s New Wave Travel location in central Toronto or its Georgetown office.

“This is such a great marriage of staff and clientele,” said Brian Robertson, president of Vision Travel Solutions. Vision’s status as the only National Partner of luxury travel association Virtuoso, he added, will be a big asset for the Travel Sensations team.

Thachuk also commented on the news. “Everyone at Vision has been so kind and welcoming,” she said, “and so professional. It’s an exciting time for us and we are looking forward to our association with this dynamic new travel family.”

Earlier this year, Vision Travel announced its plans to merge with U.S.-based Direct Travel Inc – a moved described by the company as a ‘first step toward a shared strategy to build a global company.’

Under the terms of the merger, Vision will continue to operate in Canada under its existing name and brand, with its executive team remaining in place.
