VIDEO: The history of travel agents, presented by TTAND

Travel agents have been around for hundreds of years.

In honour of the hard work and dedication travel agents have showed towards their customers over time, The Travel Agent Next Door has released a visually-pleasing video detailing the trade's illustrious history.

Released in celebration of National Travel Agent Day (May 6th), the video features slides of historical pictures and videos, from the 1880s when travel agents sold tickets on steamships to the 1950s when agents used telex machines to communicate to the 1970s when airline reservation systems were introduced to the 1980s when fax machines ruled to the invention of electronic ticketing in the 1990s to the 2000s when more agents began adapting a home-based model.

TTAND applauds Canada's travel advisors, who, according to TTAND, generate $30 billion in annual sales and earn $3 billion in revenue.
