TTAND takes home 2 ACTA awards; named Host Agency of the Year

The Travel Agent Next Door was the recipient of two prestigious ACTA awards recently, as well as Host Agency of the Year, voted on by suppliers.

Friisdahl and Martin receive awards

Penny Martin, VP, travel agent experience at The Travel Agent Next Door was awarded the ACTA Ches Chard Award.

The award was established in memory of Ches Chard, who played a key role in developing numerous educational programs within the industry and was instrumental in establishing the first travel school in the Atlantic Provinces.

According to an ACTA communication:

“The recipient will be an individual, a travel agency or a group of travel agencies that has demonstrated a significant commitment to professionalism, education and training and excellence in human resources management.”

Flemming Friisdahl, founder, TTAND, was awarded the ACTA Gerald Heifetz Award. This Award was established in memory of well-known travel industry lawyer Gerald Heifetz.

ACTA describes the award as follows:

“The recipient will be an individual or organization who in the most recent year has had a significant and positive impact on the role, status and sustainability of the Canadian Travel Industry.”

As well, The Travel Agent Next Door was also awarded “Host Agency of the Year” which was voted on by industry suppliers.
