Tri World Travel, Cristello sentenced
Tri World Travel and its officer/director, Gary Cristello, have been convicted of numerous offences including furnishing false information, failing to hold customer funds in trust account, and failing to take reasonable care to prevent committing an offence.
Tri World Travel was sentenced to a fine in the amount of $10,000 and restitution to customers in the amount of $2,000, with Cristello receiving a fine in the amount of $5,000.
The company pleaded guilty and was convicted of four counts of furnishing false information relating to the provision of travel services through its outside sales representative.
Cristello, meanwhile, pleaded guilty and was convicted of four counts of failing to take reasonable care to prevent Tri World from committing an offence, through its outside sales representative, of furnishing false information relating to the provision of travel services.
TICO has also charged Frank Cardona, a former outside sales representative, with one count of operating as a travel agent without registration. He is also facing criminal charges of fraud, with both matters currently before the Court.
