Transat Distribution Canada (TDC) recently hosted 30 of its franchise and affiliate agency owners, and their guests, on a Bravo Excellence Club reward trip in Peru.

The seven-night adventure was a collaboration with Transat and G Adventures.

For nearly 20 years, the Bravo Excellence Club reward trip has been TDC’s way of recognizing sales leaders, said TDC's General Manager Karine Gagnon in a press release.

“This trip offers us an incredible luxury, a rare and essential commodity: time. Time to enjoy the destination, of course, but most importantly, time to connect with colleagues,” Gagnon stated. “It allows for meaningful and insightful discussions in an enchanting and relaxed atmosphere. I cannot overstate how vital this direct feedback from our members is to me and the leadership team members who join me.”

G Adventures also has a significant connection to – and impact on – Peru, particularly in terms of tourism, community development, and sustainable travel.

Through its non-profit partner, Planeterra, the Canadian tour operator helps create community tourism projects in the country.

The Ccaccaccollo Women’s Weaving Co-op is just one example. G tours visit this co-op, allowing local women to earn income through traditional weaving and direct tourist interaction.

Lima, Cusco & Machu Picchu

Bravo Excellence Club participants touched down in Lima aboard Air Transat and were immersed in the rich culture of Peru.

The group experienced a journey that stopped in Cusco, Aguas Calientes, Sacsayhuamán, and at Machu Picchu, a famous Incan citadel set high in the Andes.

The itinerary reflected G Adventures’ commitment to sustainability, offering meaningful connections with local communities. Among the many hands-on experiences, travellers took part in an empanada-making class and even a traditional spiritual ceremony honouring the Sun King.

To wrap up the journey, TDC held a special recognition evening at Artisano restaurant in Cusco, honouring the experiences shared and celebrating outstanding achievements of 2024.

At the event, Gagnon was joined by Joseph Adamo, chief sales and marketing officer at Transat and president of TDC, Dianne Jackson, director of franchise and affiliate members, and her Quebec colleague, Colette Girard, to congratulate owners for their efforts.

“The path to excellence is rarely easy,” Gagnon stated. “Above all, it's the result of constant effort—I would even say daily dedication—to your customers, but also to your teams.”

In TDC’s release, Jackson noted how the trip was far more than a well-planned itinerary.

“It’s an invaluable opportunity to connect deeply with our owners, to understand what drives them, the challenges they face, and their business aspirations,” she stated.

She was also proud to see newcomers interacting with long-standing members of TDC network.

“This wealth of experience is a prime example of the strength and vitality of our constantly evolving network,” she said.

“Truly a dream come true”

In a statement, Ana Tremblay, co-owner of Algonquin Travel & Cruise Centre TravelPlus, called the experience “truly a dream come true.”

“As a first-time participant in the Bravo Excellence Club trip, I felt both welcomed and inspired,” she stated. “The combination of breathtaking landscapes and meaningful connections made this trip one I’ll always remember and cherish.”

Sarah Crowhurst and Lynn Hipwell, both co-owners of The Travel Place TravelPlus, shared a joint statement, calling the adventure “the kind of reward you never forget.”

“From exploring the beauty of Machu Picchu, learning about the amazing history and culture of Peru, to meeting new friends and sharing laughs over pisco sours – every moment of our journey was perfect,” they said.

Next year, TDC’s Bravo Excellence Club trip will unfold in the Mediterranean aboard Norwegian Dawn.

The seven-day voyage will depart from Lisbon, Portugal, and travel to Barcelona, Spain, with stops in Ibiza and Palma, Mallorca, among other destinations.
