Agent pleads guilty to TICO charges
An Ontario travel business has been convicted on three charges under the provincial Travel Industry Act.
According to TICO, Valhalla Travel & Tours (974764 Ontario Ltd) and director/officer Birgit Sondrup plead guilty and have each been convicted of operating as a travel agent and travel wholesaler without registration, as well as failing to deposit trust funds into the trust account within two business days.
The total fine payable by Sondrup is $10,000 plus Victim Surcharge Fee, for a total of $12,500. The fine is payable within six months. Valhalla Travel has been convicted and received a suspended sentence on all counts.
