92% of home-based agents report a better work/life balance

A recent nationwide survey of home-based agents in Canada revealed that 92 per cent of respondents said they believe they have a better work life since becoming an at home hosted agent. Work life balance is a known factor in people choosing to work from home.

This survey demonstrates that the vast majority of home based agents believe they have a better work life balance than when they worked in an agency or call center. The survey also posed an open question to the agents to name the items they feel contributed to their overall happiness with working from home.

Happiness factors

The answers provide considerable insight into the high satisfaction rates reported by home-based agents. They named many factors including more time with family and friends, pursuing other passions, time to travel and more time for themselves.

They also cited less stress, the ability to be their own boss and the freedom to work from anywhere.

The 200 agents surveyed are currently affiliated with eight different host agencies operating across Canada, with 12 per cent not divulging who they were associated with.

The survey was conducted by an independent third party on behalf of The Travel Agent Next Door.

The Travel Agent Next Door Founder Flemming Friisdahl said the company will continue to invest in surveys to better understand this growing phenomenon in the industry and share the findings with the industry and with suppliers.
