The 2016 Holiday Snapshots contest: we have a winner!
The votes have been counted and a winner has been named in the 11th annual PAXNews.com Holiday Snapshots contest!
The winning entry in the 2016 edition of the contest belongs to Joanne de Boehmler from The Travel Agent Next Door in Toronto, and her photo “Fishing at Dusk, Barbados, West Indies.”
Joanne gave PAX a little insight into her photo: “I’ve travelled to Barbados many times – I think it’s a great island as you can get every type of accommodation, from budget to luxury, and depending on where you stay, you don’t necessarily need a car. The Boardwalk on the South Coast of the island is popular in the early morning and evening with both locals and tourists, who are looking to exercise and take in beautiful views at the same time. And at the end of your walk you can stop in at Blakey’s or Tapas for a drink! I always walk with a camera and on this day, I saw a boy fishing and thought it was a cool shot with the sun setting in the background, so I waited for him to throw the line out then I took the shot.”
Thanks to her good eye and great timing, Joanne receives the grand prize consisting of an all-inclusive trip for two to the Hideaway at Royalton Saint Lucia, courtesy of PAX and Sunwing Vacations.
PAX would like to thank everyone who submitted photos and voted in this year’s contest – see you again next year!
