When I began my journey through Spain, I knew I would be immersed in a world of contrasts, where centuries-old traditions mingle with dazzling modernity. From the majestic peaks of the Pyrenees to the sun-drenched shores of the Costa del Sol, every city I have explored has offered me a unique experience, shaped by its history, culture and charm. Accompany me on this odyssey through the emblematic cities of Spain, where each corner contains treasures to discover.

Madrid: The Royal Capital

My first stopover took me to Madrid, a bustling metropolis where the past meets contemporary dynamism. Upon my arrival, I was captivated by the imposing Royal Palace—the official residence of the King of Spain—which bears witness to the greatness of Spanish history. Then I plunged into the maze of the Prado Museum, where the masterpieces of Goya, Velázquez and El Greco transported me through the ages of Spanish art. A well-deserved break in the Plaza Mayor, in the heart of Madrid’s effervescence, allowed me to savour the authenticity of traditional cafés and restaurants. And how can you not be electrified by the thrilling atmosphere of the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, the temple of football that is home to the famous Real Madrid club?

Barcelona: The Pearl of the Mediterranean

My journey then took me to Barcelona, a captivating city where art, architecture and nightlife come together in mesmerizing harmony. I marvelled at the unique creations of Antoni Gaudí, such as the Sagrada Família, living works of art that defy description. Strolling along the emblematic avenue of La Rambla, I was bewitched by the constant animation among shops, restaurants and street artists. And what about the Gothic Quarter, where every step reveals a new facet of the city’s fascinating history? A day ends gently on the golden beaches of Barceloneta, where the sunset over the Mediterranean is a breathtaking sight.

Seville: The City of Passion and Art

In the heart of Andalusia, Seville welcomed me with its enchanting charm and historical treasures. The majestic Cathedral of Seville, a true symbol of the city, dazzled me with its architectural splendor, while the Giralda Tower offered breathtaking panoramas of the Andalusian city. Lost in the winding alleys of the Jewish quarter of Santa Cruz, I discovered flowery patios and lively squares where history seems to pulsate at every corner. And what about the Alcazar, this enchanting Moorish palace, with its lush gardens and whispering fountains? An unforgettable evening ended with a captivating flamenco show, a true expression of Andalusian passion and grace.

Valencia: The City of Modern Art and Delicious Cuisine

On the east coast of Spain, Valencia surprised me with its unique blend of tradition and modernity. The City of Arts and Sciences, a real architectural marvel, transported me into a futuristic universe where science and creativity meet. In the heart of the historic center, I wandered between ancient churches and lively markets, impregnating the authentic atmosphere of the city. And what about Valencian paella, this emblematic dish that embodies all the richness of Spanish cuisine? A culinary experience to enjoy without moderation in one of the city’s many restaurants.

Granada: The City of the Alhambra and Flamenco

At the foot of the Sierra Nevada, Granada dazzled me with its Moorish heritage and enchanting atmosphere. The Alhambra, a jewel of Islamic architecture, transported me to another time with its sumptuous palaces and lush gardens. In the winding streets of the Albaicín, I discovered the authentic soul of Granada, between whitewashed houses and flowery patios. And what about flamenco, this enchanting dance that resonates in every corner of the city? A day full of emotions ended in Plaza Nueva, where the nightlife offers a glimpse of Grenadine life.

Bilbao: The City of Contemporary Art and Gastronomy

Finally, my trip ended in Bilbao, a dynamic metropolis where contemporary art and gastronomy combine wonderfully. The Guggenheim Museum, a bold architectural work, plunged me into a fascinating artistic universe, between contemporary art and innovative exhibitions. On the banks of the Nervión River, I strolled between the iconic bridges and the historic districts, discovering the authentic charm of the Basque Country. And what about Basque cuisine, renowned throughout the world for its creativity and quality? An unforgettable gastronomic experience, where each dish is a true tribute to the culinary richness of the region.
