The lights are turning back on in Cuba, according to an update posted by the Ministry of Tourism of Cuba on Facebook on Tuesday (Oct. 22). The update hopefully concludes an electrical crisis that has plagued Cuba since last Friday when the country’s main energy plant failed.

Air Canada and airBaltic have announced a codeshare agreement, providing customers additional options when flying between Canada and Europe's Baltic states. Effective Nov. 6, 2024 (subject to regulatory approvals), Air Canada's marketing code will be placed on 10 routes operated by airBaltic, opening Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania on a single ticket.

Beverley Vickers, director of sales and marketing for Canada at Regent Seven Seas Cruises, is retiring, PAX has learned. Her last day at Regent is November 1. “I’ve had an incredible career," Vickers tells PAX. Helping travel advisors move their premium cruise clients to luxury over the years “has been so rewarding." G Adventures has increased the number of FAMs it will be running in 2025 to 12, including six trips that are open to all agents, and six that will be run exclusively with partners. The six trips open for agents at a heavily discounted price will take place in Costa Rica, the Galápagos, Greece, Japan, New Zealand or Thailand. Applications close Nov. 1, 2024.
