Amid talks about restrictions that limit cruise ships in Alaska, Royal Caribbean Group has partnered with Alaskan Goldbelt Incorporated to build a new cruise port on Douglas Island in Juneau. While the project is being positioned as a solution for alleviating cruising's impact on the Alaskan city, the Juneau Visitor Industry Director says the project came as a surprise, one report says.

Egypt will cancel its pre-entry visa requirement for Canadian citizens on Dec. 1, 2024, says the Egyptian Foreign Ministry. Canadians will once again have the option of obtaining a visa upon arrival at Egyptian airports of entry, or an electronic visa (e-visa). Moira Smith, Goway's VP for Africa, said she is “absolutely thrilled” about the news.

WestJet Vacations has appointed Shane Dineen to its leisure national sales team as business development manager. "[Dineen] brings a wealth of experience from his background as a travel advisor, where he offered invaluable insights and expertise to customers and travel partners," wrote WestJet in a press release Tuesday (Oct. 15).
