The celebratory night was held to observe Goway's upcoming 55th anniversary, next year, and the company's rebrand, which was done with travel advisors in mind.

James Howey has taken on a new role at Qantas Airways as director sales – Canada, based in Vancouver. “It’s a true honour to be part of this iconic Australian brand known worldwide for its exceptional service, innovation, and rich heritage in the aviation industry,” wrote Howey, who previously worked at Air Canada for nearly 30 years, on his LinkedIn page.

The Competition Bureau is using new powers granted by the federal government to get information from Air Canada and WestJet as part of a probe into the Canadian airline sector. According to a press release issued Thursday (Oct. 3), Canada’s competition watchdog said it obtained two Federal Court orders requiring the two biggest airlines to provide information for a study it launched in July.

Royal Caribbean's Star of the Seas is one step closer to its big debut. The 5,610-guest vessel floated for the first time this week, less than one year ahead of its introduction at Port Canaveral (Orlando), Florida, in August 2025. The Icon-class cruise ship will now enter its final stages of construction.

Celebrity Cruises has unveiled its 2026-27 deployment, revealing 600 sailings to over 280 destinations in more than 70 countries across seven continents. The fifth ship in the Edge Series ships, Celebrity Xcel, will sail her inaugural season in Europe, offering a Mediterranean vacation and Celebrity's first overnights in Madeira, Portugal. And, for the first time, guests can sail for 110 nights on a special "Grand Voyage."
