ACTA opens registration for fall summits

Registration is now open for the three ACTA Travel Industry Summit events to be held in September. The WestJet Group announced today (June 18) it will acquire two additional Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, one from Aviation Capital Group (ACG) and one from High Ridge Aviation, to be integrated into the airline’s operations in 2024.

Travellers are paying more to fly within Canada during peak times compares to last year, according to a new data from Flight Centre Travel Group. Prices for domestic flights in July through September rose 14 per cent on average over the past 12 months, the company says.

Scenic introduces new group amenity program

Scenic Luxury Cruises and Tours has introduced a group amenity program for Scenic Eclipse and Scenic Eclipse II. The Scenic team will pre-determine the tier for each sailing, and travel agents can call the groups department to inquire about the tier details of each sailing.

Air Canada pilots request federal conciliation in contract negotiations

Air Canada pilots represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA) filed on Monday (June 17) a notice of dispute and request for conciliation assistance with the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service regarding collective bargaining with Air Canada. Negotiation discussions began in June 2023.
