Heavy rains, floods in Florida cause mass flight cancellations & delays

Travellers at South Florida’s two major airports faced more delays and cancellations on Thursday (June 13) after a state of emergency was declared due to heavy rains and flash flooding. According to reporting from the Miami Herald, the Miami International Airport cancelled 284 flights and delayed another 132 as of 3 p.m. on Thursday.

Air Canada celebrates success of direct Vancouver-Brisbane flight

More than 85 travel agents gathered Wednesday night (June 12) at Steamworks in Vancouver to celebrate the success of Air Canada’s direct flight from Vancouver to Brisbane. The event was hosted by Air Canada, Goway Travel and Visit Brisbane, and a lucky agent was awarded Air Canada trips to Brisbane as a door prize.

BermudAir adds new Bermuda-Halifax flights

BermudAir announced it is increasing flights on its recently launched service between Bermuda and Halifax to twice a week. The airline is adding a flight on Wednesdays to its schedule starting on July 10, along with flights on Saturdays.

It found that summer vacation confidence is on the rise, with 61 per cent of Canadians planning to take a trip this summer.
