WestJet on Monday (Feb. 5) announced an increase in coast-to-coast travel options with the initial release of its summer 2024 schedule. The airline is set to introduce 10 new routes and return or extend 16 routes. Summer will alos see th return of transatlantic flying between Halifax and Europe.

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced the opening of Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres, the latest Inclusive Collection, part of World of Hyatt resort to open in Mexico. The 507-room, adults-only resort is located on a rustic strip of oceanfront coast about 30 minutes north of Cancun’s hotel zone.

The Canada Infrastructure Bank (CIB) is investing $90 million in the new domestic passenger terminal at MET – Montreal Metropolitan Airport (YHU), formerly known as Saint-Hubert Airport. Work on the new facility – a partnership between Macquarie Asset Management and Porter Airlines– will begin in August, with a scheduled completion by mid-2025.

Royal Caribbean International revealed its “Travel Partners of the Year” list on Monday (Feb. 5) with a lineup of 13 travel partner agencies that “shined” in 2023. The company's Canada Partner of the Year is The Travel Agent Next Door. The winners recognized also include the 2023 Chairman’s Award recipient, Travel Leaders Network, securing the highest of honours.

Air Canada Vacations has announced the return of its 2024 Europe Travel Agent Toolkit with opportunities for travel advisors to boost earnings and enjoy savings. The toolkit features new destinations, along with enhanced "Tours at a glance" and "Cruises at a glance" tables. Agents can also take advantage of bonus commission, savings and early booking incentives.
