Air Canada today announced the "strategic expansion" of its presence in Scandinavia with new summer seasonal flights to Stockholm. Three weekly flights from Montreal and two weekly flights from Toronto will begin June 12, 2024.

Viking Financial Services Ltd, which managed travel protection for Viking, has filed a lawsuit against Arch Insurance Group in the Circuit Court of Jackson County, Missouri, the cruise line announced on Wednesday (Nov 1). The lawsuit arises from Arch’s failure to fulfill its financial obligations during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Flair Airlines announced its summer 2024 schedule on Wednesday (Nov. 1), revealing increased frequencies on domestic routes, adding two new routes, and doubling capacity. Porter Airlines on Wednesday (Nov. 1) launches daily, roundtrip service between Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Tampa (TPA), which is the first of five destinations and seven routes that Porter is starting across Florida this fall. It's also the first U.S. route operated by any airline with the Embraer E195-E2.

Starting Nov. 6, travel advisors will be required to pay service fees to Sunwing if they call the company’s sales centre for help with actions that can be done online using self-serve tools. In certain cases, a fee of $25 for existing bookings will be applied, and for new bookings, a fee of $25 per travelling passenger will be charged, Sunwing says. The update mirrors policies implemented by other tour operators.

WestJet has announced changes to its existing bag and seat selection fees. Starting Nov. 7, 2023, first, second and excess bags paid via an airport agent, will be an additional $10, the airline revealed Tuesday (Oct. 31). Also, guests with Econo or EconoFlex fares will now pay a fee for seat selection during check-in if they choose a Preferred or Emergency Exit row seat.
