Airlift between Canada and Jamaica will see a boost this winter as Canada Jetlines plans to launch flights between Toronto Pearson and Montego Bay. The new, twice-weekly route will begin on Nov. 5, revealed Jetlines’ Director of Sales and Business Development Sanjay Kopalkar at this year’s Jamaica Product Exchange (JAPEX) conference in Montego Bay.

Egypt has posted an update regarding its visa requirements for Canadian travellers. According to the Embassy of Egypt in Ottawa, Canadian travellers who possess an e-visa issued before Oct. 1 will be allowed to enter Egypt, throughout the validity of their e-visa – even if it extends beyond Oct. 1. Global Affairs Canada updated its travel page for Egypt on Tuesday (Sept. 12).

Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) will expand its long-haul network in summer 2024 – and Toronto will benefit. The flag carrier of Switzerland – a subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group – will begin a non-stop service between Zurich and Toronto starting on May 10, 2024, the airline says.

Beginning Dec. 15, WestJet will operate non-stop service between Kelowna and Las Vegas, twice weekly, as the airline continues to strengthen its investments in Western Canada through increased sun and leisure connections.

The internet is furious and Jann Arden is unhappy after Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre made a short speech on board a WestJet flight Sunday evening (Sept. 10). The campaign-style address Poilievre delivered was on board a flight that WestJet added to carry people attending a Conservative Party convention in Quebec City, it was later revealed. Singer Jann Arden, meanwhile, isn't happy.
