Winter storm delays flights at Toronto Pearson
Delays affecting some flights at Toronto Pearson today (Jan. 15) due to winter weather.
“Our team is moving aircraft safely, and as quickly as possible,” wrote NAV CANADA on the X social media platform Thursday morning. “Passengers: check the status of your flight with your airline.”
Sharing its own update on X, Toronto Pearson noted that snow continues to fall at the airport with 12 cm recorded as of 9 a.m.
“Traffic Management Initiatives remain in place to ensure the safe arrival and departure of aircraft,” the airport wrote, sharing an image of a snow-covered airfield.
A quick glance at Pearson’s departure’s board for Thursday morning shows that almost all flights are delayed, with some cancellations.
Snowfall amounts of 20 to 30 centimetres are expected today across the Greater Toronto Area and much of southern Ontario, according to a warning from Environment and Climate Change Canada.
