India launches “e-Arrival Card” for international travellers
India has launched a mandatory ‘e-Arrival Card’ for international travellers.
The policy that began October 1 requires all travellers arriving in India to complete an online digital entry form, marking a major move toward a fully online arrival process.
Introduced by India’s Bureau of Immigration, the e-Arrival Card replaces traditional paper disembarkation forms.
Travellers must provide their personal and passport details, the purpose of their visit, their address in India, and a list of countries visited in the previous six days.
The form can be submitted up to 72 hours before arrival, with authorities expecting the new system to make airport procedures faster and more efficient.
On Facebook, Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) described the initiative as offering “a seamless, paperless arrival experience for foreign travellers,” adding that visitors simply need to “submit the form and breeze through immigration.”
According to DIAL’s website, the e-Arrival Card “records essential entry, travel, and stay information” and represents “a digital-first effort by the Bureau of Immigration to make the arrival process easier and more convenient.”
By eliminating paper forms, the new system aims to cut down on queues and save time for international passengers.
