Visit Denver has selected Pulse Travel Marketing as its in-market representative in Canada, according to press release issued on July 6.

The agency will work with the Visit Denver staff, and in-state partners to ensure that the Mile High City is prominently positioned with the travel trade, consumer and key distribution media channels in Canada.

This will include, but not be limited to, the development and implementation of a strategic communications program to increase the profile of Visit Denver and maximize multi-media opportunities.

The newly re-appointed Visit Denver Canada team will be responsible for promoting tourism from Canada to Denver and for working with key media, and in state partners in the Mile High City to drive demand and keep the city top of mind.

The Mile High City is known for its distinctive neighbourhoods, world class museums, sporting events, and outstanding culture, in addition to its proximity to Colorado’s world-famous Rocky Mountain National Park and much more beyond.

Denver is home to globally-acclaimed museums with renowned permanent and temporary exhibitions, alongside art-centric neighborhoods, boutique hotels and more, which further cement its reputation as an international cultural destination.

Additionally, Denver continues to earn critical acclaim for its culinary and beer scenes. Top visitor attractions include Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre, Denver Zoo, Downtown Aquarium, Denver Botanic Gardens and Meow Wolf.

Canada is Colorado’s number one source of international visitors and nonstop international flights on several carriers including WestJet and Air Canada who have increased access to its capital.

Recently ranked the number one airport in the U.S. by the Wall Street Journal, Denver International Airport connects The Mile High City to more than 200 destinations worldwide, and convenient high speed rail service connects Denver International Airport with Denver’s central Union Station.

In 2022, Denver welcomed a record 36.3 million visitors, marking a 15 percent increase over 2021 and surpassing all historic tourism totals by a large margin.

A record number of visitors also spent more money in Denver than ever before, generating $9.4 billion USD in tourism revenue, far beyond the previous record of $7 billion spent in 2019.

“As Denver continues its ascension among the top visitor destinations in the world, and tourism continues to be a key economic driver, we have enlisted Pulse Travel Marketing to help us develop a public relations strategy designed to grow our presence in Canada,” said Jesse Davis, director of public relations and communications for Visit Denver. “We are confident the expertise and market knowledge they bring to the table will help us to accomplish our goal of inspiring more Canadian travellers to come and explore The Mile High City.”

“We aim to fast track our efforts and creatively market Denver to Canadians and are honoured that VISIT DENVER has chosen to continue our partnership. We look forward to working closely with media partners and the travel industry across Canada to raise the profile and increase the number of Canadian travellers to this sports and tourism capital” said Sana Keller and Annika Klint, managing partners, Pulse Travel Marketing/KAI. “Canadians will be amazed at the diversity of this city, its acclaimed culinary scene, thriving arts and cultural arena, family-friendly activities and outdoor and urban experiences available in Colorado’s capital city.  We are excited at the rewarding work that lies ahead and join Visit Denver in congratulating the Nuggets on their first NBA championship title win at Ball Arena in Denver."
