Visit California launches online Accessibility Hub, teams up with Sophie Morgan on travel series
Visit California has launched a new online resource aimed at improving travel accessibility across the state.
The Accessibility Hub is designed to support travellers with disabilities and industry professionals alike, offering tools, information and curated content intended to make navigating California easier and more inclusive.
To help bring the project to life, Visit California partnered with Sophie Morgan, a BAFTA Award-winning presenter and disability advocate, on a new video series called Joy Diversion.
The three-part unscripted road trip series, which premiered July 28 on Visit California’s YouTube channel, follows Morgan and friends as they explore a range of destinations across the state—from desert towns and coastal communities to wine regions and alpine lakes.
“Road trips in California are all about travelling without compromise. There really is something for everyone thanks to the state’s abundance of experiences and inclusive culture,” said Caroline Beteta, president and CEO of Visit California.
“This Joy Diversion series – and Sophie’s storytelling – brings to life everything that makes California the world’s ultimate playground.”
Morgan, a longtime advocate for disability rights, recently moved from the UK to Los Angeles.
She’s become a rising voice in the U.S. travel space, using her platform to highlight inclusive travel opportunities.
“Since moving to California, I’ve been blown away by how easy and joyful road tripping can be,” said Morgan.
“This series is a reflection of that, it’s about celebrating movement, spontaneity and the joy of the open road.”
The Accessibility Hub also includes contributions from other accessibility advocates, including award-winning travel writer Cory Lee, who offers practical insights for travellers seeking barrier-free experiences.
The launch comes as California prepares to host two major global sporting events: the FIFA World Cup in 2026 and the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028.
Both the Accessibility Hub and the Joy Diversion series fall under Visit California’s broader Playful Journeys platform, which focuses on freedom, inclusion and exploration across the state.
