Tourism Ireland is celebrating WestJet’s previously announced non-stop St. John’s-Dublin route for Summer 2025, which re-establishes a direct connection between Newfoundland and Ireland.

The long-anticipated flight offers travellers from Newfoundland and Labrador a gateway to the Emerald Isle, highlighting the strong historical and cultural ties shared between the two regions.

“This development offers Canadian travellers a seamless and efficient journey to Ireland, with just a 4.5-hour flight to Dublin,” noted Sandra Moffatt, director – Canada for Tourism Ireland, in a press release. “It has never been easier to explore Ireland’s rich history, vibrant culture, and renowned hospitality. We are thrilled to further strengthen our partnership with WestJet providing Canadians with unparalleled access to Ireland in 2025, fostering greater opportunities for tourism and cultural exchange between our countries.”

WestJet’s enhanced transatlantic service to Ireland includes:

  • St. John’s-Dublin: Returning for Summer 2025, restoring Newfoundland’s key direct transatlantic route.
  • Toronto-Dublin: Launching in April 2025, providing early-season access to Ireland’s capital.
  • Calgary-Dublin: Resuming summer 2025 schedule continuing direct access from Alberta
