Switzerland Tourism restructures North American trade team
Switzerland Tourism North America has made a “significant transition” within its trade team, according to a news release issued Dec. 1.
Paolo Lunardi, who has been head of trade relations in North America since November 2020, is set to begin a new chapter as the market manager Switzerland Tourism Japan out of the Tokyo office, effective from December 1, 2023.
“Paolo's outstanding contributions have been pivotal in strengthening Switzerland Tourism’s relationships and expanding its presence in the North American market,” the tourism board said. “His expertise and dedication have played a crucial role in the National Tourism Board of Switzerland's success. As he moves to take over his new position as the Market Manager for Japan, Switzerland Tourism is excited about the new perspectives and strategies he will bring to the organization’s operations in Tokyo.”
Restructuring in North America
In line with Paolo’s departure, Switzerland Tourism North America is also reshaping its North America Trade Team.
Oliver Weibel is set to lead as the head of trade North America while continuing his role as the director Canada based in Toronto.
Florin Eggenberger and Oliver Guggisberg will be overseeing the U.S. East and West Coasts, respectively, the tourism board says.
Additionally, the team is in the process of welcoming a new member for Swiss Travel System and another team member in the first quarter of 2024 in its New York office.
More updates will follow on this front, the tourism board says.
