Saint Lucia launches shopping guide to promote local retailers

Saint Lucia is boosting its visitor experience with the launch of a new local shopping guide.

The guide is a resource designed to assist tourists discover the many independent retailers and shops offering locally-made products throughout the island.

Retail enthusiasts will be able to choose from over 30 shops and stalls offering a wide range of goods and services.

The new shopping guide provides a comprehensive list of recommended outlets, along with their locations to showcase local small businesses.

“Our local retailers and businesses give our communities diversity and creativity and will offer visitors something to love that can only be found in one place, Saint Lucia,” said Lorine Charles-St. Jules, CEO of the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority.

Saint Lucia’s local shops featured include:

Island Mix: Rodney Bay 

Island Mix is an art and craft emporium featuring a wide range of local art and gifts, created by Saint Lucian artisans. Located on the waterfront in the heart of Rodney Bay there is a relaxed waterside café where you can enjoy Lucian rum cake. Sip and Paint classes are also available to book.

Christy’s Creations: Babonneau

Award-winning designer Christine Samuel is behind Christy's Creations, creating one-of-a-kind hand crafted, hand-painted bags, jewellery, and clothing.

Plas Kassav Inc: Canaries

A family-run roadside bakery on the west coast. Try the freshly baked organic bread cakes made from cassava. Flavours include cherry, ginger, cinnamon, cocoa and pineapple among many more.

Lotus Cosmetics: Baywalk Mall

Lotus Cosmetics prides itself by using natural ingredients found in Saint Lucia. Products include soy wax, body scrubs, lotions and masks. Candle-making classes are also available.

Shirley’s Creations: Castries

Shirley is well-known in art circles on the island. She creates products from the most intricate Christmas trees to colourful floral arrangements, papercraft, fish scale dolls and magnets. Her much sought-after range of Creole Angels make the perfect decoration for Christmas.
