MICE planners get the inside scoop on Ireland at B2B event in T.O.
Meetings and events planners based in the Greater Toronto Area received a warm Irish welcome last week by attending Tourism Ireland’s Business Events Showcase at Reid’s Distillery in downtown Toronto.
According to a press release, the B2B event saw 20 planners meet, and do business with, six tourism businesses from the island of Ireland representing DMCs, hoteliers and attractions including Moloney & Kelly, TIFCO Hotel Group, Dublin Convention Bureau, Visit Belfast, Hastings Hotels and Titanic Belfast.
The aim was to showcase Ireland as the best place to connect for meetings and incentive travel planners by highlighting unique venues, countryside resorts and city properties, iconic cultural experiences, and superb food and drink offerings on the Emerald Isle.
“We were so delighted that so many top meetings and events professionals took the time to attend our business events showcase this week to connect with our partners from the island of Ireland – demonstrating their commitment and interest in Ireland for 2024 and beyond, and having a little fun, too,” said Sandra Moffatt, Tourism Ireland’s Manager for Canada, in a statement.
“Business events are an important, high yield sector for us, and Tourism Ireland plans to undertake a dedicated programme of activity to grow business in this area. Our promotions are highlighting our world-class venues and facilities, as well as ease of access from Canada and the unique experiences on offer across the island of Ireland.”
‘Meet in Ireland’ is the official MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and events) brand for the island of Ireland, comprising Tourism Ireland, Fáilte Ireland, and Tourism Northern Ireland – who work in partnership to promote the island of Ireland as a leading business events destination.
