The Arizona Office of Tourism (AOT) has new representation in Canada.

Earlier this month, on Oct. 5, Global Marketing & Sales Inc. (GMS) secured a contract by the U.S. state of Arizona to spearhead its travel industry and consumer marketing initiatives in Canada

This new partnership is part of a strategic endeavour by AOT to expand its tourism footprint, targeting an increase in market share and a surge in Canadian visitation and spending, according to a press release.

“Arizona offers an unparalleled travel experience, blending captivating landscapes, rich cultural experiences, and boundless adventures,” said Lisa Urias, CEO for Arizona Office of Tourism, in the release. “In entrusting GMS with our vision, we anticipate that their proven track record and innovative marketing strategies will elevate Arizona's stature amongst Canadian travellers, unfurling the vast, vibrant tapestry that our state has to offer.”

Laura Nesteanu, managing director Canada for GMS, called Arizona “a gem in the global tourism landscape.”

“It's an honour for GMS Canada to illuminate its wonders and create a distinctive space in the hearts and minds of Canadian travellers,” stated Nesteanu. “Our seasoned team is committed to tailoring innovative, impactful strategies that resonate with the Canadian market, steering them towards the myriad experiences awaiting in Arizona. Through dynamic new alliances and proactive engagement with the travel trade, we confidently forecast a robust surge in tourism and an invigorating boost to economic development.”

GMS says it will utilize data-driven approaches, in-depth market insights, and engaging storytelling to captivate and inspire potential Canadian tourists.

In the upcoming months, travel trade, industry partners, and consumers alike can anticipate "a slew of inspiring, immersive, and informative campaigns" that elevate Arizona in the Canadian market.
