German National Tourist Office to end operations in Canada

The German National Tourist Office (GNTO) is closing its office in Canada, PAX has learned.
Anja Brokjans, director for the GNTO, which is represented by VoX International in Canada, shared the news in an email to partners on Friday (November 1).
The office is closing due to “significant budget cuts” affecting the GNTO's operations in 2025, Brokjans shared. Its last day of operating in Canada will be December 31, 2024.
The “difficult decision” involves the GNTO closing six offices worldwide, including its representation in Canada, Brokjans wrote.
“I want to take a moment to sincerely thank you. Your support and collaboration have been truly invaluable in helping us share the magic of Germany with Canadian travellers. We couldn’t have achieved what we did without you, and we’re so grateful for everything we’ve accomplished together,” Brokjans wrote.
