D.R. to allow shorter passport validity until 2026
The Dominican Republic has once again prolonged a temporary exemption to its standard requirement that passports be valid for at least six months beyond the date of entry.
Effective June 1, 2024, the “exceptional measure” allows citizens of Canada, the European Union, the United Kingdom, the United States, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Colombia, and Ecuador, travelling to the Dominican Republic solely for tourism, to enter the country using a valid passport without the six-month validity requirement.
According to a press statement, the measure is valid until December 31, 2026.
