An exchange-rate promotion at three downtown Las Vegas properties drew more than 120,000 Canadian visitors between January and August, according to results released by the participating casinos.

Circa Resort & Casino, the D Las Vegas and Golden Gate Hotel & Casino treated $1 CAD as equal to $1 USD on eligible hotel, beverage, gaming and entertainment purchases through their At Par program.

The properties reported an 80 per cent increase in Canadian visitation during the promotion, along with more than $20 million in slot coin-in and over 8,000 hotel room nights.

“Canadian travellers have always been an important part of downtown Las Vegas, and At Par reinforced just how strong that connection is,” said CEO Derek Stevens.

“We created the offer to deliver meaningful value while encouraging guests to experience everything our properties and the surrounding destination have to offer. The response exceeded our expectations and showed that the right combination of value, flexibility and a uniquely downtown experience can have a tremendous impact.”

What the At Par promotion included

Canadian guests staying at Circa, the D or Golden Gate could receive the At Par rate at check-in.

The numerical value of the room rate shown in U.S. dollars was charged in Canadian dollars without the exchange rate applied.

The offer also extended to select beverage venues, including BarCanada at the D, Overhang at Circa and Bar Prohibition! at Golden Gate.

Eligible guests could access At Par beverage pricing multiple times per visit after showing Canadian identification.

Canadian visitors could also receive up to $500 CAD in slot promotional play at the equivalent U.S. dollar value through Club One at Circa, the D or Golden Gate.

A valid Canadian passport or government-issued ID was required.

Several events were incorporated into the campaign.

BarCanada hosted an open-bar watch party for the Canada-Morocco soccer match on July 4, with free drinks offered to guests wearing Canadian colours.

Canadian rock band Finger Eleven performed as part of the Fremont Street Experience’s Downtown Rocks Summer Concert Series on June 27, followed by a meet-and-greet at BarCanada.

Canadian DJ Excision also headlined two concerts at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center on April 24 and 25.

Canadian fans could purchase tickets at the At Par rate.

The campaign additionally featured a Tunnel B-B-Q sauce tasting with Valerie’s Original Flavours and Circa’s Project BBQ Carolina barbecue food truck.

The At Par promotion launched in January and concluded in August.
