The Dominican Republic has posted an update to its entry requirements regarding passport validity for Canadians and other countries.

Up until recently, the rule for visitors entering the D.R. was to have a passport valid for at least six months.

Now, citizens from Canada, as well the United States, European countries, England, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Colombia and Ecuador, are allowed to enter the country for touristic purposes with just a valid passport during their stay.

This special exception will be valid until May 31, 2024, says the country’s tourism board.
