Discounts galore: Virginia Beach's Loonie Savers Pass for Canadians now available
Canadians keen on soaking up Virginia Beach's 60 kilometres of sun-soaked coastline can tap into some deep discounts.
The destination’s 2024 “Loonie Savers Pass” is now available at VisitVirginiaBeach.com.
This conveniently gathers exclusive offers and experiences from across the destination. After registering online, visitors can access a mobile passport to access discounts and deals at attractions, retailers, hotels, and restaurants in the Virginia Beach area.
“Just in time for summer road trips, we’re excited to introduce even more fun, for fewer loonies,” said Nancy Helman, the Virginia Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau’s director. “The Virginia Beach Loonie Savers promotion offers our Canadian visitors compelling discounts on accommodations, entertainment, attractions and dining to enjoy without breaking budgets.”
After registering online, visitors simply access the mobile passport to tap into discounts and deals at attractions, retailers, hotels, and restaurants in the Virginia Beach area.
With nearly 50 offers already available, examples of savings include: buy one ticket, get one free from Rudee Tours dolphin watching cruises; $5 off General Admission to the Virginia Aquarium, which recently revealed a $40 million renovation and expansion; 10% off meals at Tides Coastal Kitchen; 15% off the rack rate at The Capes Ocean Resort, and so much more.
The pass is delivered to your phone via text and email and is ready to use immediately. It can also be saved to your phone’s home screen for easy one-tap access.
When visiting a participating business, present your phone to the attendant or staff member to redeem available discounts. A Canadian passport or ID may be required to receive the promotion.

Festivals & events
Virginia Beach is doubling down on festivals and events, ensuring there’s always something exciting for visitors to see and do this summer.
Some highlights include:
Originating in Montreal, Jackalope Fest (May 31 - June 2) rolls back into Virginia Beach for a sizzling summer showdown. Watching high adrenaline sports like skateboarding, BASE jumping, bouldering, and beach volleyball will keep fans on their feet cheering on daring performances.
The beach will be jammin’ during the new Point Break Reggae Festival (June 1 - 2). It will spotlight Jamaican music, food and culture on the oceanfront with more than 20 live concerts. Headline artists include Sublime, Rebelution, Wiz Khalifa, Steven Marley and Steel Pulse.
The world’s longest-running surf competition carves up the Virginia Beach coastline during the 62nd Annual East Coast Surfing Championship (Aug. 18 – 25). The eight-day, international surf carnival welcomes more than 850 surfers competing for titles, prizes, history and the love of surfing.
Closing out the season, King Neptune reigns over the Annual Virginia Beach Neptune Festival Boardwalk Weekend (Sept. 29 – Oct. 1) as the beloved marquee festival celebrates its 50th year.
Boardwalk Weekend is the highlight of the annual schedule spanning 32 oceanfront blocks with concerts, a nationally-ranked Art & Craft Show, Grand Parade and athletic competitions from surfing to volleyball.
Not to be missed is the signature International Sand Sculpting Championship where 32 of the world’s most-talented sculptors turn nearly 500 tons of sand into works of art in three days.
