Antigua & Barbuda forms Canadian advisor committee
The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority has formed a new Canadian Travel Agent Advisory Committee, bringing together travel advisors from across the country.
The announcement was made Wednesday, May 6, coinciding with Travel Agent Day.
The committee has already held its first meeting and will help guide Antigua and Barbuda's trade strategy in the Canadian market.
"The energy, insight, and enthusiasm this group has already brought to the table has been incredibly encouraging," said Tameka Wharton, director of tourism, Canada.
"Travel advisors play a critical role in how Canadians discover and experience destinations, and bringing this group together allows us to stay closely aligned with the market as it evolves. Their perspective will help shape how we grow the destination in a way that is both strategic and responsive as the global travel landscape continues to shift."
The committee includes advisors representing sectors such as luxury, MICE, leisure and multi-generational travel.
The tourism authority said the initiative is part of a broader effort to expand Antigua and Barbuda's presence in Canada, alongside new Quebec-based trade representation and expanded PR efforts.
It will be co-chaired by two Antigua and Barbuda Certified Travel Experts:
- Laura Price of Blowes & Stewart Travel Group, the destination's 2025 top seller
- Olimpia Govorusa of Travel Our World, Envoyage, a two-time top agent in 2024 and 2025
Other committee members include:
- Yvonne Campbell, Yvonne’s Travel and Tours (Nexion Canada)
- Jennifer Meyer, Creative Group
- Anita Paton, The Travel Agent Next Door
- Michelle Zimmer, Travelweek
- Jakki Prince, Prince Adventures (Trevello)
