Antigua & Barbuda honours Canadian advisors at Black Pineapple Awards
The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority (ABTA) recognized eight Canadian travel advisors at its 2025 Black Pineapple Awards, held December 5 at Sandals Grande Antigua Resort and Spa.
The annual event honours top-producing agents from Antigua and Barbuda's main source markets.
This year's ceremony brought together travel professionals from Canada, the Caribbean and Latin America, the United States, the United Kingdom and Europe.
Sharon Boissoneault received three awards: the Director's Award for room night sales, the CEO's Award (shared with Olimpia Govorusa) for driving bookings and the Minister's Award for revenue generation.
Other Canadian recipients included Darlene Wipp, Laura Price, Tamara Postma, Adul Nazarali, Victoria Guest and Kelly Shea
"We have certainly had a great year, with strong sales across our markets supported by our travel agent partners who have developed a deep affinity for Antigua and Barbuda," said Colin C. James, CEO of ABTA.
"Our top producers are as invested in the destination as we are. Their passion is reflected in their sales performance, and we are proud to honour their excellence."
Tameka Wharton, director of tourism for Canada, said Canadian advisors' contributions helped drive the destination's success in 2025.
"Their commitment, creativity, and professionalism ensured that Canadian travellers continue to choose our islands for unforgettable experiences," she said.
"We look forward to working with even more agent partners in 2026."
The awards program included a familiarization trip featuring a welcome reception at Tamarind Hills and land and sea tours on Antigua.
Attendees also flew to Barbuda International Airport via chartered LiatAir flight to visit Barbuda Belle, the Frigate Bird Sanctuary and Nobu Restaurant on Princess Diana Beach.
