WeChina showcases tour offerings to agents
Travel to China was in the spotlight last night as tour operator WeChina showcased its tour packages to Toronto-area travel agents.
Part of the NGH Tours group, WeChina has operated in Canada since 2012. In addition to its China tours, the company offers Canada itineraries (aimed at the inbound travel market) along with cruises in the Caribbean, Europe and North America.
According to Allen Ru, assistant general manager for NGH Tours, the company has managed to keep tour prices low through its airline and supplier relationships.
“We’ve got a lot of support from the airlines – we have a good relationship with Air Canada and China Eastern. As well, we have a lot of support from the Chinese government, along with the hotels, the restaurants and local attractions.”

Exploring China
Three tours were showcased during the Toronto presentation:
Bullet Train Impressions – the 11-day program features stops in Shanghai, Suzhou and Wuxi, before boarding a bullet train to Beijing. Another rail experience is offered in the form of a tour aboard Shanghai’s mag-lev train (magnetic levitation), the fastest commercial high-speed electric train in the world.
Best of China – sites such as the Forbidden City and the Great Wall are among the highlights of the 11-day program, which includes visits to Shanghai, Suzhou, Wuxi and Hangzhou.
Yangtze River Cruise – the 15-day cruise explores several cities along the famed waterway, including Suzhou and Shanghai, with the chance to explore the Great Wall as well as an optional panda encounter.
Dependent on the program, departures are offered from Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver and Halifax.
