TravelBrands donates $10,000 to fight hunger this holiday season

Travelbrands says that amid the festive season, "many families and individuals are grappling with unprecedented hardships and food insecurity." 

Recognizing the urgency of the situation, TravelBrands has announced its ongoing partnership with Food Banks Canada for the fourth consecutive year with a $10,000 donation. 

In the tour operator's commitment to foster positive change and make a meaningful difference in the lives of Canadians, TravelBrands said it wants to elevate its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives by being actively part of the change. 

The organization has pledged to participate in a food and fundraising drive as part of expanding its partnership with Food Banks Canada. This initiative will also allow employees to learn and have a positive impact on the community.

Claudia Galella, Director of Corporate Development and Partnerships at Food Banks Canada reported that food banks usage rose to its highest levels this year across Canada, with almost two million visits in one month alone. 

“Food banks in every region of Canada are stretched to their limits with this rising demand, which is expected to remain high as more and more people count on food banks to help them cope with rising costs," said Galella.

"Due to this heightened need, we are very grateful for our partnership with TravelBrands. This donation comes at an important time. Thank you TravelBrands for your support and for helping us work towards our mission of relieving hunger today and preventing hunger tomorrow," concluded Galella.
