Transat recognized for green efforts

Air Transat’s Montreal head office building has been named among the greenest head offices in North America, as selected by Corporate Responsibility magazine.

Among the initiatives Transat was recognized for are the installation of a solar wall on the west-facing side of the hangar adjoining the head office, replacement of all fluorescent and incandescent lighting by LED lighting, recycling and composting programs, availability of electric-vehicle charging stations, and landscaping using clover instead of grass, which has enabled substantial savings in water consumption.

This latest recognition is the outcome of a competition for companies committed to sustainability principles, not only in their business operations but also when it comes to management of their head offices.
