TICO approves more than $17,000 in consumer payments
TICO’s Board of Directors recently approved payment of $17,377.92 to assist 15 consumers who did not receive the travel services for which they had paid.
The payment was due to the closure of Amigo Travel Ltd. in Toronto ($1,672.30); Mexicana Airlines in Mexico ($1,515.62) and Sky Asia Travel in Toronto ($14,190).
The board also recently denied three claims. Two claims were denied on the basis of late filing and one claim was denied as it was based on a payment for travel services that were available, but not received because of an act or a failure to act on the part of the customer or person travelling.
