G Adventures has announced two new National Geographic Family Journeys in Italy and Tanzania.

Both trips are available to book now.

In Tanzania, families will go on safari and visit the village of Mto wa Mbu, where they can learn more about its community tourism project, the techniques used to create art from banana leaves, and how to create banana art of their own.

Prices are from $6,399 per adult and $6,119 per child.

In Italy, they will learn how to make their own Venetian masks, cook pasta in Florence and attend a gladiator training session in Rome.

Prices are from $4,599 per adult and $4,319 per child.

Bookings for National Geographic Family Journeys’ travel style have more than doubled in 2023 when compared to the same January-to-June booking window in 2022.

“We’re seeing strong interest in Asia and Central America in particular, so families are looking to head further afield and check off some of those long-awaited bucket list trips,” said David Green, managing director for Canada.

“We’re also witnessing a large number of multi-generational bookings — grandparents travelling together with parents and children — so people are really wanting to share experiences as families.”

Itineraries for National Geographic Family Journeys are for travellers aged seven and up and feature unique, interactive activities inspired by National Geographic's expertise in photography, storytelling, wildlife, culture, history and geography.

The two new trips to Tanzania and Italy bring the number of National Geographic Family Journeys to 12.

Other destinations include France, Iceland, Morocco, Japan and Peru.
