Dignitaries and guests of honour recently celebrated the 104th birthday of the Republic of China (Taiwan) with a reception at Toronto’s Ritz Carlton.
Notable figures from Ontario’s police forces, political parties and academic community were also in attendance, as well as the heads of international tourism boards such as Haiti and St. Kitts.
Hosted by Wei Lee, lead anchor of OMNI Mandarin News National Edition, the evening paid tribute to the great relations between Canada and Taiwan highlighting the positive cultural exchange between both nations. As the oldest republic of Asia, Taiwan prides itself on its democracy, as well as its role in international trade and in being a model of international peacekeeping.
