Sunwing spotlights freshly-renovated RIU resorts in Cancun & Aruba

Sunwing Vacations is highlighting the reopening of two newly-renovated RIU Hotels & Resorts properties in Mexico and Aruba, bringing refreshed accommodations, new dining concepts and expanded amenities to Canadian vacationers.

RIU Palace Peninsula in Cancun and RIU Palace Aruba in Palm Beach have both welcomed guests back following renovations aimed at families, couples and travellers seeking an elevated all-inclusive experience.

RIU Palace Peninsula adds Elite Club, new dining

At RIU Palace Peninsula, the renovation includes the introduction of Elite Club by RIU rooms and services, offering guests exclusive benefits and an upgraded stay.

Family amenities have also been expanded with a new children’s pool, while several new food and beverage options have been added. These include a new Asian restaurant, a Sports Bar serving à la carte American favourites, the Tiki Taco taquería and an ice cream station.

The resort’s former adults-only area is now reserved exclusively for Elite Club guests, while two new relaxation pools have replaced the former jacuzzi.

Other changes include the removal of the Kulinarium gourmet restaurant, RIU Art and billiards from the property.

RIU Palace Aruba unveils swim-up suites

RIU Palace Aruba has also introduced Elite Club by RIU as part of its renovation.

New accommodation options include Junior Suites and Suites, along with swim-up Junior Suites and swim-up Suites for Elite Club guests.

The Elite Club experience also features an exclusive restaurant and beach bar with a private sun terrace area.

On the culinary side, guests will find a new steakhouse, the American Country Sports Bar and restaurant, Pepe’s Food grill and a Tiki Taco station. A mixologist will also serve a daily signature drink.

Families have new amenities to explore, including a RIULand kids’ club and children’s pool with slides.

Conference facilities and rooms featuring balcony jacuzzis are no longer available following the renovations. Renova Spa services are now offered at the neighbouring RIU Palace Antillas.
