RIU Plaza Miami Beach welcomes guests

RIU Hotels & Resorts has opened the RIU Plaza Miami Beach, the company’s first hotel in the United States with the RIU Plaza city brand.

The 284-room hotel, formerly the Hotel RIU Florida Beach, has reopened after several months of refurbishment and a $20 million investment, resulting in a new interior structure and design while retaining the hotel's characteristic façade. In addition to redesigned rooms with refitted bathrooms, the property now features a new Chill Out area, the new Capital Take Away in the lobby and a new poolside snack bar. Guests can also take advantage of free WiFi throughout the hotel (accessible in guest rooms) as well as a full gym.The RIU Plaza group of hotels will boast a second U.S. property by the end of 2015, as work progresses on the RIU Plaza New York Times Square in Manhattan.
