Peregrine brings small ship adventure cruising to West Africa

Peregrine Adventures has revealed it will add West Africa to its Adventure Cruising program in 2019, as the company continues to evolve and expand its cruise brand off the back of rapid growth.

The company previously launched in Europe in 2017 and will expand to Asia at the end of this year.

“Our travellers have responded to a style on the water that is akin to our style on the land - authentic and low-impact travel,” Peregrine Adventures’ General Manager of Marine Filippos Venetopoulos said. “These are cruises for travellers who would never normally choose a cruise.”

A growing demand

Peregrine Adventures’ cruising product has grown by 35 per cent this year, with the demand leading to the launch of the West Africa voyage.

Peregrine Adventures prides itself on a low-impact travel model. At the start of the year, the Peregrine exclusive Adventure Cruising trips began to phase out single-use plastics onboard with customers given reusable water bottles and cloth bags to reduce waste.

Peregrine Adventures adventure cruising tours are operated by small ships with no more than 50 passengers on-board, enabling travellers to visit the small ports that big ships can’t get to and explore little-known towns and villages outside of crowded tourist hotspots. The company continues to carbon offset all trips through a range of renewable energy projects.
