Nine RIU properties receive HolidayCheck awards

RIU Hotels has received awards for nine of its international properties from travel reviewer HolidayCheck, the company announced today.

The winning RIU Hotels in the HolidayCheck’s tenth annual awards (based on customer ratings), include:

- ClubHotel Riu Karamboa (Boa Vista, Cape Verde)

- Riu Touareg (Boa Vista, Cape Verde)

- ClubHotel Riu Garopa (Island of Sal, Cape Verde)

- ClubHotel Riu Tequila (Playa del Carmen, Mexico)

- Riu Palace Mexico (Playa del Carmen, Mexico)

- Riu Garoe (Tenerife, Spain)

- ClubHotel Riu Oliva Beach Resort (Fuerteventura, España)

- ClubHotel Riu Guarana (Algarve, Portugal)

- Riu Palace Oceana Hammamet (Hammamet, Tunisia)

To receive the award, the hotels have to fulfil the following minimum criteria:

- Minimum of 50 hotel reviews in 2014

- Minimum of 90 per cent recommendation rate

- Minimum of 5.0 average rating, 6.0 being the maximum possible

- No violation of the HolidayCheck Code of Conduct in 2014
