New owner, CEO for Contac Services

More changes have taken place at Contac Services since the business was issued a Receivership Order in early December.

Contac has been acquired by Go Direct Supply Chain Solutions Inc., which is owned by Calgary-based Norrep Credit Opportunities Fund LP (managed by Crown Capital Partners Inc.).

The company has been operating for more than 35 years, providing distribution and marketing fulfillment to various industries throughout North America. Go Direct will take over ownership effective immediately, and continues to operate out of their existing facilities in Mississauga and Delta.

According to a release, all current employees will be retained by the new organization, and that there will be no disruptions or delay to clients despite the change.

Mark Lorne, previous executive vice-president of Contac Services, is now chief executive officer. Riaz Pisani resigned from the CEO position at Contac Services, mywurld and Onewurld two months ago.

In addition, Mywurld Inc., which is also owned by Norrep and a group of private investors, has acquired Contac Services’ mywurld assets and technology platforms. This includes their travel agent desktop (TAD), Navitour products, and PURL technology.

Lorne will also take the helm of this business division.

“This change provides mywurld with a strong financial foundation, and allows us to refocus mywurld into a technology provider that is active across a broad range of industries," he said.

Mywurld, in conjunction with their travel partners, sends out over 20,000 PURLS a day.
