London will edge out Bangkok as the most-visited international city in 2015, according to MasterCard’s 2015 Global Destination Cities Index.
The annual study, which ranks cities based on the number of international overnight visitors and how much they spend, forecasts London to receive 18.82 million international visitors in 2015, just slightly ahead of second-ranked Bangkok, at 18.24 million. The two cities have topped the Index throughout its five-year history.
The rest of the top ten includes Paris (16.6 million guests); Dubai (14.26); Istanbul (12.56); New York (12.27); Singapore (11.88); Kuala Lampur (11.12); Seoul (10.35); and Hong Kong (8.66).
