Limited spaces on Inca Trail
Peru's Inca Trail continues to captivate travellers world-wide, and G Adventures is urging agents with travellers who have long-imagined hiking Peru’s famous Inca Trail to book now to secure their space on this iconic trek in 2018.
Inca Trail permits for 2018 are available this week, and the Peruvian government will only award permits for bookings with complete traveller details. There is a limit of 500 permits / people per day on the Inca Trail, including porters and cooks, and G Adventures cannot promise permits for tentative trekkers.
Permits for January, March, April and May 1 – 15 are now available (the Inca Trail is closed for maintenance in February). Permits for May 16 – 31 are available from tomorrow, for June 1-15 hikes from October 12, June 16-30 hikes from October 13, July from October 16, and the rest of the year from October 17.
Emily Mikus, South America product manager, G Adventures, says timing is critical for those who have their heart set on hiking the Inca Trail in 2018.
“The sooner the better to confirm those bookings. If travellers book now, we can 100 per cent guarantee their permit, as we will purchase their permit one day after they book. The Peruvian government has opened up permits earlier this year, so that means travellers need to book sooner, too.”
With 29 different itineraries that include four-day hikes up and down the Inca Trail, and guided tours that start at $1,349 per person for a seven-day The Inca Trail tour, the options to experience this wonder of the modern world abound.
