Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta celebrates grand opening
The beach was alive with the colours, music and energy of Mexico as Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta celebrated its official grand opening with a gala on the shores of the Pacific.
The gala was hosted by Bruce Wardinski, CEO of Playa Hotels & Resorts, and Carlos Cabrera, senior vice-president, all-inclusive operations for Hyatt, who welcomed Enrique Ramos Flores, Minister of Tourism for the state of Jalisco, to take part in the toasting of the new property.
The high point of the celebration was the announcement that the Hyatt Ziva had just been awarded the American Automobile Association (AAA) Four-Diamond designation, solidifying the brand’s ascent into new areas of upscale accommodation, quality and hospitality.
“Our heart is in Mexico,” Wardinski said of the company’s prominent presence in the country, which also owns all-inclusive properties in Los Cabos and Cancun. “We want to provide the very best service and the very best hotel experience right here in this country and in this state.”
Tucked away in a tropical cove that includes 1,250 feet of private beach, Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta offers an idyllic, secluded setting while still remaining 10 minutes from Puerto Vallarta. The resort, formerly Dreams Puerto Vallarta, reopened in December 2014 following a $20 million remodeling, including a new lobby that acts as the focal point of the resort, having been built from the ground up with a new design, and furnished with new decor.
It’s the latest in a series of all-inclusive expansions and developments being championed by the Playa-Hyatt partnership, the two companies working together to promote what they are calling the ‘evolution of all-inclusive.’ Their new brands - Hyatt Ziva (which welcomes guests of all ages) and Hyatt Zilara (an adults-only resort) - are designed to meet high standards in cuisine, luxury service and experiential amenities, including the practice of ‘service from the heart,’ whereby resort staff greet guests by placing their hand over their heart in every opportunity.
“Part of the evolution of all-inclusive is going beyond what our guests see in promotional materials,” Kevin Froemming, CMO & EVP Playa Resorts Management, said of the resort’s goal to set a new standard in the realm of all-inclusive. “It’s having them come down here and be blown away by spontaneous moments they didn’t expect.”
The gala’s high-energy atmosphere, complete with taco stalls, live art installations, and a non-stop line-up of live music, performers and fireworks, was a representation of the heartfelt aspirations Playa and Hyatt have for their clients, welcoming a blend of guests seeking an exceptional setting for escape, business, romance - and of course, travel trade - to a night of extravagance and personalized hospitality, all in the name of exceeding expectations.
